Since the early years of our marriage we have always wanted to be parents. Sadly, this was not God’s plan for us and after 14 years of trying to conceive, we had a miscarriage. This was a devastating experience for us, but over a year later our miracle baby, and our rainbow baby, was on his way. We were elated! At the 20 week ultrasound Alison was told that our son had 2 heart defects. Our hearts sank as we prepared for our future family, but had faith that God knew best and would help us through this challenge. The pregnancy was very difficult with many complications and at 31 weeks via emergency C-section our precious little Ethan was born. Our little heart warrior had his first heart surgery shortly after and at about 5 months old he had open-heart surgery. He has spent many months in the hospital throughout his short life and we are truly blessed to have him in our lives. He is brave, strong-willed, and brings us so much joy! Due to this difficult pregnancy and delivery, our doctors recommended that we try to grow our family using other options. After much consideration, we decided that Adoption would be the best route and we can’t wait to continue to grow our family soon! We believe that every child deserves to be loved, and we have so much love to give!
