Open adoption: staying part of your child's life.

Open adoption means placing your baby doesn't have to be a goodbye. You and the adoptive family agree on a level of ongoing contact, and you help shape what that looks like, now and as the years go by.

Questions you might be asking

Yes. Counseling, legal help, and support with medical care, housing, and living expenses come at no cost to you. You pay nothing during the process.
That depends on the kind of adoption you choose. Many birth mothers pick open adoption, which can include photos, updates, letters, or visits. You and the family agree on what that looks like.
This is your decision. You can change your mind during the process, and your state's laws set the point when an adoption becomes final. We walk you through those rules so you know your rights at each step.
Yes. You can talk with families by phone, video, or in person before you choose. Meeting them helps you feel sure about your decision.
Yes. You can read family profiles and pick the one that feels right for your baby. You also set how much contact you want with them.
Your privacy matters to us. We share your details only with people you approve, and you control how much the adoptive family learns about you.
We start with some simple paperwork so we can get to know you and what you need. From there, we make sure you have the support that fits your situation. We help you find a loving adoptive family, and we work with you to build a plan for the delivery, visits, and other details you care about. After placement, we stay with you. We help with support and any decisions you want to think through as you move forward.
It depends on your situation. If you are married, or if the birth father is actively involved and supporting you, he may need to be part of the process. Every case is different, so we will talk it through with you and explain what your situation calls for.
Your first step is a call or text, nothing more. You can ask questions, learn how it works, and hang up. Reaching out does not commit you to adoption.
Yes. You set the pace. Some people decide quickly, others take weeks to think it through. There is no clock we put on you.
That's okay, and common. You can talk it through with us before you decide anything. We will give you honest information, not pressure, so you can make the choice that feels right.
Yes. The choice stays yours. You do not sign anything before your baby is born, and you take the time you need at the hospital before making it final.
Yes. You can say who is in the room, whether you hold your baby, and how much time you want together. We help the hospital follow your wishes.
You choose the level that fits you. That can look like no contact, letters and photos, calls and updates, or in-person visits. You help shape it now and as the years go by.
No. You can choose adoption after your baby is born. Call or text us and we will walk you through what happens next.
Yes. If you already have a family in mind, tell us and we will talk through how that can work.
