Use Positive Adoption Language

Maybe some people didn’t take PETA seriously when they wanted to change some well-known idioms; however, I think their commitment to changing the language around animals shows their devotion. For example:

Language is powerful.

Language can lift us up or degrade us. Words can trigger emotions.

We are often critical of politically correct language. However, when we talk about sensitive subjects, we would be wise to choose those words that uplift. This allows us to show respect for others.

Positive adoption language helps dissipate the stigma that was once carried by adoption. Words are powerful and they help educate others. Vocabulary can help the world view adoption, not as a second-best way to parent.selective photo of red and white hearts graffiti
