Financial Assistance for Birth Mothers in Georgia
Turning a difficult situation into something positive.
We
are here to listen for any woman dealing with an unexpected pregnancy, especially concerning
the financial assistance for birth mothers. Speaking to us does not oblige you to decide on
adoption. But we’re here to support you and make the adoption experience as smooth as
possible. This journey is not just about paperwork and doctor visits. This journey is about
turning a stressful situation into something positive.
Living Expenses for Birth Mothers
At Heart to Heart Adoptions, we use the Georgia Administrative Code as a guideline for how we can best emotionally support and financially assist birth mothers. The Georgia law allows us to offer financial assistance to meet any reasonable and necessary living expenses and legal costs for birth mothers.

Reasonable and necessary living expenses include:
Housing expenses
This includes helping with the present rent or help moving to a safe location if your living conditions are dangerous for you or the baby.
We also maintain apartments near our offices where birth mother can spend the last few months of their pregnancy. This situation allows us to get to know you better and provide rides to doctor appointments and group activities with other women in your situation.
Group activities include:
Necessary utilities including:
- Electricity
- Water
- Possibly telephone
Food
A grocery allowance for the birth mother and any minor children who are living with you.
Travel expenses
Transportation costs needed to support your pregnancy, including medical appointments and grocery trips.
- Gasoline for medical appointments
- Bus or other public transportation for medical appointments
- When needed, funds for public share rides
Medical costs
At Heart to Heart Adoptions will connect you with competent, compassionate medical care.
Childcare or foster care
For mothers with other children, we can provide (if you live close) or pay for care for your other children while you are hospitalized or at medical appointments.
At Heart to Heart Adoptions, we don’t believe this journey is just about paperwork and procedures. It’s also not only just about financial assistance for birth mothers. This journey is about turning a difficult situation into something positive. For women facing unplanned pregnancies, adoption offers support, structure, and a path forward. It’s about taking control in a challenging time.
Reasonable and necessary expenses do not include:
- Expenses that are being met by your existing resources
- Expenses that would support other family members, except those minor children living with her and with whom she has custody.
- Expenses for leisure activities or recreational purposes
- Purchasing an automobile
