Free Counseling Services

At Heart to Heart Adoptions, we know that thinking about adoption brings up many feelings. We have professional counselors for birth mothers.

Types of Counseling We Offer:

Before Placement Counseling: Talk with licensed counselors about your feelings about being pregnant, parenting, and adoption. This helps you make the right decision for you.

Help Making Decisions: Our counselors help you work through your feelings and think about all your choices. We don’t pressure you.

Grief and Loss Counseling: Placing a child for adoption can be sad and hard. Our counselors know how to help birth mothers with these difficult feelings.

Help After Placement: Counseling doesn’t stop after placement. We keep helping you as you adjust to life after placing your baby.

Private and Free

All counseling is free and completely private. Even if you decide not to choose adoption, our support is available to you.

Family Counseling

If it helps, we can also give counseling to other family members who might be affected by your decision, like partners and other children.

Flexible Times

We know pregnancy and life can make scheduling hard. We offer flexible appointment times and can meet with you in person, on the phone, or through secure video calls.

Our goal is to make sure you have all the emotional support you need to make the best decision for yourself and your baby, whatever that decision is.

Here's what Destiny, from Durham, NC shared with us:

“The counseling for birth mothers in North Carolina that Heart to Heart Adoptions provided saved me. I had so many feelings about being pregnant and thinking about adoption. The professional counselors they have are licensed and really understand what birth mothers go through. I did both one-on-one counseling and support groups with other women like me. They helped me with grief and loss counseling, which I really needed. Even after I placed my baby, they kept helping me adjust to life. All the counseling was free and private, and they worked around my schedule in Durham. The emotional support made all the difference in my healing.”
