    • Location: Where your child grows up matters. Some birth mothers want their baby to stay close by. Others feel good about their child growing up in a different state, a big city, or a place with lots of opportunities.
    • Cultural Awareness: You know your child’s background better than anyone. Look for a family that respects different cultures, understands your child’s heritage, and will help your child feel proud of who they are.
    • Religion: If faith is important to you, it’s okay to ask questions. Find out what the family believes, how they plan to raise your child spiritually, and what kind of religious experiences your child might have growing up.
